Yu Seok Youn is a professor at the School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University. He earned his Ph.D. in 2004 from the same institution, specializing in site-specific PEGylation. He completed postdoctoral training the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Utah in Prof. You Han Bae’s lab (2006–2007), followed by a faculty position at Pusan National University (2007–2011) before returning to Sungkyunkwan University in 2011. Dr. Youn has played active editorial roles, including associate editor (2011–2016) and editor (2017–2022) of Archives of Pharmacal Research (APR). Since 2024, he has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Controlled Release, and is also on the editorial boards of JCR (2021–), Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (2012–), and Pharmaceutics (2021–). He chaired the Academic Program Committee for both the Korean Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology and the CRS Korea Chapter (2022–2023). Over the past two decades, his research has centered on cancer-targeted therapy with multifunctional nanoparticles, photoreactive nano/biomaterials, and inhalation-based drug delivery for lung diseases. He has published over 220 SCI papers since 2001.
