Professor Saif A. Khan is the Head of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He received his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from MIT in 2006. His research programme at NUS leverages reaction engineering and multiphase fluidics to develop sustainable, efficient and intelligent manufacturing processes for molecules and advanced materials in the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical sectors, in collaboration with industry partners worldwide. Prof. Khan has led the advanced manufacturing technologies and drug products workstreams within the Pharmaceutical Innovation Programme Singapore (PIPS), a country-wide industry-academia consortium with major industrial partners, including Pfizer, GSK, and Merck. He is an Associate Editor for ‘Reaction Chemistry and Engineering’ – a Royal Society of Chemistry Journal.
